Project Manager

Job Description and Key Responsibilities:

Our client, a marine manufacturer is looking for an individual to deliver Custom Boat projects by managing stakeholders, communications, project scope, budget and schedule commitments while ensuring project overall objectives are met.

  • Responsible to create and manage the production schedule
  • Plan, prepare and monitor work schedules, plans, drawings, and specifications
  • Liase with outside contractors on structural and systems design
  • Ensure that all design changes made during production and recorded and that the associated drawings are updated
  • Daily interaction with Shop Team Leader to ensure that he has all drawings and materials required to build his boats on target and on schedule
  • Monitor daily labor charged to each project to ensure accuracy
  • Incorporate and support a culture of continuous improvement to increase efficiencies and reduce costs

Qualifications:

The candidate will have excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, influencing and time management skills.  A minimum of three years project management or production management experience in a marine related field is required.  Superb attention to detail and accuracy, resourceful and the ability to work independently.  A strong knowledge of marine coatings and applications is an asset.


Education/Training:

  • Bachelor degree or diploma in construction related field
  • Formal training in Project Management (PMP or similar)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Strong command of AutoCAD , Rhino or similar software an asset

Shipyard Experience a strong asset.

Working Conditions

Reporting to General Manager, the candidate’s time will be split between the office and the given projects.  Physical requirements include standing/sitting/bending at length.  Typical business hours are 7:00am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday.  Travel may be required from time to time.
