Position Summary
Bring your project management, creative problem solving and team leadership expertise to this exciting role with our Information & Technology Services team.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, IT Projects & Portfolio Management, the Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of projects or initiatives for Information and Technology (ITS) Services or designated programs/services within Northern Health (NH). Projects may involve process improvement and work redesign, productivity reviews, business analysis, technology implementation/deployment, staff deployment, and the provision of strategic information to support those processes. Working with stakeholders at all levels, the Project Manager inspires others to achieve goals and deliverables through facilitation, effective communication of corporate vision, and ensuring the culture is one in which individual competencies can thrive. The Project Manager provides expertise, education, and coaching to designated project staff as required. The Project Manager works closely with the Project Sponsors and project team to address the impact of any change to ensure an effective and efficient transition. The Project Manager will follow the guidelines established by the organizational and IT project management offices. The incumbent liaises with consultants, vendors and other health care entities and other external agencies to negotiate contracts for the provision of goods and services as required. This position is a Health Information Management proponent, leading projects that maximize the benefits of integrated health information systems.

Starting salary will be approximately from $88,990 to $111,237 and will be based on education, training, experience, and salaries of similar positions.

Qualfications
• Bachelor's Degree in Health Information Systems or a related discipline;
• Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent;
• Five (5) years recent related experience in a project management capacity, and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups;
• Proven experience in planning, communication, business analysis, people management, change management and risk management;
• Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated management skills.
• Advanced skills in complex problem solving, planning, project management, change management and group process.
• Knowledge of applications, their architecture, and ITIL build, support and deployment methodologies.
• General knowledge of current health care issues and trends.
• Flexibility to manage changing priorities and scope of work.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical and/or clinical issues to non-technical or non-clinical users with a high degree of comprehension.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively, both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships and work with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver defined results working under pressure and on concurrent, multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make presentations to groups using technology available for distance communications as well as travel to areas of Northern Health when appropriate.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Proficiency in Office Systems (i.e. Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Visio).
• Physical ability to perform duties of the position.
• Ability and willingness to travel within Northern Health's geographic region.
• Current valid BC Driver's License.
