We are seeking a Project Engineer to provide technical and administrative assistance to the Water Planning Section of the Utilities Division in the Engineering Department. As an integral member of the team, you will provide assistance in the planning and design of a sustainable water system to supply clean and safe drinking water to the city's current and future residents and businesses.


    • Assist in developing and delivering asset management initiatives for the City's Engineering Department, including water, sanitary, storm and transportation services. • Assist in managing different programs to maintain and improve water system performance, including condition assessment, asset replacement plan, water loss reduction, water conservation, water quality monitoring, and emergency mitigation plan. • Assist in performing hydraulic analysis on the water system to assess system capacity under different demand conditions, system behavior changes due to operational changes, and other relevant analysis. • Assist in reviewing detailed design of water asset replacement program, including water main, PRV, and PS. • Coordinate and manage consultants in performing different planning studies to support the overall strategic goals of the water section. • You have exceptional organizational skills and are able to handle multiple projects at once. • You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise with other internal/external key stakeholders, consultants, and members of the public. • You see opportunity in challenge and bring innovative solutions to meet the needs of the organization. • You are a team player who will work in collaboration in a multi-disciplinary team environment.

Applicants under consideration will possess the following qualifications:
    • A Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline of Engineering. • Professional Engineering (P.Eng) designation, or eligible for registration with EGBC • A minimum of 1-3 years' experience in the field of civil engineering - water/sanitary/drainage infrastructures. An equivalent combination of acceptable training and experience will be considered. • Knowledge and/or experience with water infrastructure planning, asset management and/or hydraulic analysis is a strong asset. • Experience working for or with municipalities is considered an asset. • A valid and unrestricted driver's license is required.
Other Information

Pay Range: $87,201 - $123,302
