Position Overview:
The NVR / OEM Engineer will be part of the Network Video Recorder & Appliance team, which is responsible for working with our ODM partners to design custom embedded appliances and select OEM server platforms that are used to deploy our world-class Avigilon Control Center software product.
Our systems are used for connecting and controlling PoE and analog cameras, interfacing with access control devices, managing the high definition video stream using high performance storage solutions, and running our AI video analytics to provide the best level of user experience. Responsibilities include:
• Ability to work with ODM partners to design, validate, and deliver top quality/performance Appliance solutions • Specify product features and define system architecture (Intel architecture) • Evaluate mechanical and thermal solutions and review electrical design and PCB layout • Define and review product testing, verify technical issues, and identify solutions • Work with internal engineering teams (Electrical and Mechanical) to evaluate and approve ODM proposals • Travel to ODM locations as required to resolve issues • Ability to work with OEM partners to select the best option among available server solutions • Work cross-functionally with SW, product management, compliance, quality, and manufacturing teams to release a high quality product on budget and on schedule • Submit ECOs and BOMs into a PLM system Qualifications:
• Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering • At least 5 years of experience in developing products for manufacture • Extensive knowledge of EMC and safety standards and design requirements to ensure that the products meet these standards • Hands-on testing and troubleshooting experience • Self-motivated, with the ability to learn quickly and independently, and work within a team • Strong organizational and documentation skills • Demonstrated enthusiasm for electronics and a pragmatic approach to problem solving • Strong verbal and written communication skills Preference will be given to candidates with the following skills and experience:
• Experience working with Surveillance products - IP Cameras, Network Video Recorders, etc. • Experience working with OEM and OEM companies, especially off-shore companies • Experience in the design and development of Intel x86 based products • Experience working with Mechanical and Thermal design team • Experience working with manufacturing and/or CM • Experience with product compliance and safety certification • Experience with Windows and Linux OS Perks and Benefits:
