About our Client

Our client, an established and award-winning manufacturer of test instruments, is looking for an experienced Production Manager to join their team in Richmond. As a key member of the operations team, this role will primarily perform electrical and mechanical assembly of company products, in addition to a variety of other mechanical and administrative duties. The ideal candidate is able to read and understand mechanical, flow and electrical wiring diagrams; can operate electric and mechanical hand tools; possesses computer literacy and is familiar with the various Microsoft Office applications; and is proficient in soldering and de-soldering. Responsibilities

  • Assemble and wire sub-assemblies
  • Submit engineering change request as required
  • Assemble products including light mechanical and soldering
  • Complete required administrative duties
  • label and properly handle nonconforming products
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives
  • Assist in material kitting and inventory control
  • Work with the Site Leader and Supervisors to document and maintain standardized work
  • Work closely with the Supervisor daily to implement solutions to operational issues, such as health and safety, quality and outpit
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures and organize work areas for efficiency and safety
  • Provide status reports to management as required
  • Respond to change productively and handle other duties as required
Requirements
  • Two-year technical degree is preferred
  • Over 3 years of electro-mechanical assembly-related experience
  • Lean or Lean Six Sigma training and experience with deployment of projects would be considered an asset
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, flow and electrical wiring diagrams
  • Ability to operate electric and mechanical hand tools
  • Computer literacy and good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficiency with soldering/de-soldering
  • Experience with tube bending
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
