Our customers include many of the top technology companies, research labs, and universities around the world.

As a Production Engineer, you will have the opportunity to identify, analyze, and implement solutions for a wide range of manufacturing challenges. This will include performing cost-benefit analyses, automating processes, troubleshooting, 3D modeling, sourcing parts, in-house fabrication, and integrating processes. This position allows a high degree of flexibility and creativity in your designs and allows you to see your ideas quickly become reality. You will get to work closely with and be supported by our team of production technicians and development engineers. You will also have full access to our well-equipped machine shop which includes a waterjet, laser cutter, 3D printer, 3 CNC milling machines, manual mill and lathes, a CMM, a surface grinder, and numerous other power and hand tools.

For this role, we are looking for someone with the following traits:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment (bonus points if you also have experience in product design).
  • A great communicator who can tie together the needs of different groups.
  • Ability to analyze opportunities and determine the most beneficial path.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude. Do you troubleshoot and fix problems with your car, home appliances, or other mechanical devices? Are you able to identify root causes and make improvements to prevent failures from recurring?
  • Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Degree/diploma in mechatronics, electrical, or mechanical engineering.

Ideally, you will also have experience in the following areas:

  • Machining and metal fabrication
  • Introducing new products and working with change processes
  • Technical writing
  • Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Workplace ergonomics
  • BOMs and/or an ERP system
  • Statistical Process Control (SPC) or other quality initiatives
  • Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA)
  • A practical knowledge of control systems and programming

Zaber's culture is based on a belief that if you build a team of exceptional people and give them the freedom to exercise their talents and creativity to the fullest, great things will happen. People who thrive here are self-motivated, take initiative to improve their skills, and tend to think and act like entrepreneurs.
