Job Description

We help the world run better
At SAP, we keep it simple: you bring your best to us, and we'll bring out the best in you. We're builders touching over 20 industries and 80% of global commerce, and we need your unique talents to help shape what's next. The work is challenging - but it matters. You'll find a place where you can be yourself, prioritize your wellbeing, and truly belong. What's in it for you? Constant learning, skill growth, great benefits, and a team that wants you to grow and succeed.

Meet the Team

We lead the initiatives that matter most to SAP Concur's customers and business, driving the success, quality, cost, and delivery of complex products and cross-functional efforts across Product & Engineering. Everything we do ladders back to our vision: a world where travel and expenses practically manage themselves, so customers can focus on what matters most.

A key part of that future is Joule, SAP's AI assistant, which is introducing a new way for users to interact with enterprise software.

We look for leaders who are energized by:
• Solving high-impact, ambiguous problems that span multiple products, teams, and stakeholders
• Setting direction in complex environments, not waiting for clarity but creating it
• Driving alignment across large, cross-functional organizations
• Tackling strategically important challenges with real customer and business impact
• Context-switching without losing the through-line of outcomes
• Doing what it takes to deliver, regardless of org boundaries or job titles

What You Will Do

As the Principal Product Manager for Joule at Concur, you will maintain the end-to-end view of how Joule is implemented across Travel, Expense, and Platform, ensuring these capabilities come together into a coherent customer experience. This role connects strategy, platform integration, customer adoption, and operational readiness for Joule within the Concur ecosystem.
• Own the overall Joule product strategy for Concur, ensuring initiatives across Travel, Expense, and Platform align and deliver meaningful customer value
• Partner with Travel, Expense, and Platform product managers delivering Joule capabilities in their products to drive consistency across products.
• Develop a deep understanding of Joule provisioning, activation, and SKU onboarding, working to reduce friction in customer adoption
• Represent Concur with SAP's central Joule teams, aligning Concur use cases with the Joule platform roadmap and coordinating integration with Concur services
• Work closely with engineering, design, go-to-market, service delivery, and support teams to drive adoption and continuously improve Joule capabilities
• Stay close to customer feedback, onboarding challenges, and support issues, identifying opportunities to remove friction in real workflows
• Partner with commercial teams on Joule packaging and entitlements, including Base vs. Premium capabilities
• Ensure Joule delivers a reliable production AI experience, including clear conversational behavior, error handling, recovery paths, and readiness for major releases
• Partner with legal, security, and compliance teams to ensure Joule capabilities meet enterprise governance and trust requirements
• Own end-to-end outcomes across Joule initiatives, resolving cross-team dependencies and ensuring delivery translates into adoption, usage, and improved customer workflows
• Drive Joule adoption with clear usage reporting, defining and tracking metrics (activation, active usage, workflow completion, deflection, etc.) to ensure Joule delivers measurable customer and business value
• Establish and enforce consistency across Joule implementations (testing, evaluation, documentation, release readiness), applying shared standards and practices across Travel, Expense, and Platform

What You Bring
• Strong product management experience leading cross-functional initiatives in complex, matrixed organizations
• Ability to define strategy while staying close to execution, translating ambiguous problem spaces into practical solutions that deliver real outcomes
• Solid technical understanding and the ability to work closely with engineering teams to diagnose issues, understand platform constraints, and navigate system dependencies
• Working knowledge of modern AI systems (e.g., LLMs, prompts, grounding, evaluation, and limitations) and the ability to translate those capabilities into real product use cases
• Empathy for customers, service delivery, and support teams, with a willingness to dig into onboarding challenges, adoption issues, and real-world product friction
• Experience operating in environments where products are live and evolving, balancing roadmap priorities with day-to-day problem solving and issue triage
• Strong influence and stakeholder management skills, able to align multiple teams and drive decisions without direct authority
• Experience working with platform products or APIs, coordinating capabilities that span multiple products and teams
• A track record of owning high-impact products or initiatives and driving them from strategy through delivery and adoption

What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
• Establish a clear end-to-end view of Joule capabilities across Concur, including roadmap, dependencies, and ownership across Travel, Expense, and Platform teams
• Improve the Joule onboarding and SKU activation experience, working with engineering, service delivery, and support teams to reduce friction and address common customer issues
• Create a structured feedback loop between product, support, and engineering to track, prioritize, and resolve Joule-related issues more efficiently
• Strengthen collaboration with SAP's central Joule teams, ensuring Concur use cases are represented in platform discussions and aligned with the broader Joule roadmap
• Increase customer adoption and usage of Joule capabilities, identifying opportunities to simplify workflows and deliver clear value for travelers, managers, and administrators
