Job Description Summary

Are you a stickler for details and someone who thrives in dynamic and fast-paced environments? Do you have experience in planning and working with material resource planning systems? If so, then come join the growing Planning team at STEMCELL Technologies - Canada's largest biotech company.

As a Planner, you'll contribute to STEMCELL's goal of helping scientists advance medical research by planning and prioritizing requirements for purchase and/or manufacture of in-process and finished products to meet demand. You'll optimize operational efficiency, maximize cash flow and ensure inventory buffers are maintained. You'll also get the chance to collaborate with internal operations teams to identify inventory issues and propose solutions.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan and prioritize production requirements using SAP ERP in combination with Demand Driven MRP Software, R+
  • Manage inventory levels under the assigned product portfolio including reviewing production plans according to availability of materials, resources and capacity with the team lead
  • Work closely with departments across the company including Manufacturing, Quality and Production to effectively and efficiently align supply and demand
  • Maintain data integrity in ERP system for materials (lead time, stocking unit of measure, etc.)
  • Support our new product introduction pipeline and help STEMELL launch new products
  • Share 'best practice' knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, procedures, and quality system requirements within the planning and supply chain function


Knowledge and Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of Planning experience in a production environment utilizing a material resource planning system
  • Bachelor's degree, ideallyin Materials Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Science
  • ERP/MRP system experience (SAP experience an asset) with DDMRP (Demand Driven MRP) systems such as R+.
  • Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management and database applications with the ability to learn new programs when required
