Part-Time Dayside Maintenance Crew
Shift: Daytime hours, starting before 8:00 AM
Starting Wage: $19.50 per hour
Carpenter Enterprises (B.C.) Inc is an independently owned and operated franchise of McDonald's located in British Columbia. We are currently seeking a reliable Dayside Maintenance Team Member to help keep our restaurant clean, welcoming, and ready for guests throughout the day.
This part-time position focuses on exterior maintenance in the early part of the shift, followed by detailed cleaning of guest-facing interior spaces such as the dining area, washrooms, and play place.
Position Summary
A typical day in this role starts before 8:00 AM with outdoor upkeep, including leaf blowing, pressure washing the drive-thru lanes, cleaning entrances, maintaining the corral area, and completing lot pick-up. As the shift progresses, the focus moves indoors to cleaning glass panels, windows, and doors, followed by a detailed clean of the dining room, washrooms, and play place (not applicable at our Esquimalt location). This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and employees.
Key Responsibilities
  • Start shifts before 8:00 AM and complete assigned exterior maintenance tasks
  • Perform outdoor cleaning duties such as leaf blowing, pressure washing drive-thru lanes, cleaning entrances, maintaining the corral area, and lot pick-up
  • Clean glass panels, windows, and doors to maintain a polished guest experience
  • Complete detailed cleaning of dining areas, washrooms, and play place (not applicable at our Esquimalt location)
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and secure environment for guests and employees
  • Use cleaning tools, pressure washing equipment, and chemicals safely and according to training
  • Report maintenance concerns or repair needs to management in a timely manner

Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently and stay productive throughout the shift
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, organized spaces
  • Comfort working both outdoors and indoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to handle physically active work including walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive cleaning tasks
  • Reliable attendance, punctuality, and flexibility based on scheduling needs
  • Previous cleaning, janitorial, or maintenance experience is an asset but not required

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Flexible daytime schedule: 4 to 8 hours per shift, 3 to 5 days per week based on availability
  • Shift typically starts before 8:00 AM
  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, and outdoor movement
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Exposure to weather conditions, cleaning chemicals, and cleaning equipment
  • Fast-paced environment with a mix of indoor and outdoor tasks
