WSP is currently seeking an Onsite Data Processor to join our Geomatics team, located at our Kamloops office. Reporting to the CAD Supervisor this position will be responsible for the processing of field data, the production of charts, writing reports and ensuring a high-quality end product for big inch pipeline construction projects . RESPONSIBILITIES
•Check the survey data received from the survey team for completeness and quality.
•Examine and process the raw survey data.
•Evaluate the processed survey data and responsible for correct processing of survey data as per the client scope of work.
•Responsible for the survey calculations as per the scope of work.
•Prepare the quality control report of the final chart products.
•Provide processing support for Leica and Trimble products.
•Review and mark up pipeline construction drawings, alignment sheets, facility drawings, including base maps, crossings, ownership sketches, spread sheets and access maps.
•Work with Field Supervisors and establish priorities and complete work duties with limited supervision.
•Update pipe log daily during pipe data collecting and verification stages.
•Responsible for quality control of technical data submitted in reports and charts.
•Write substantiated survey reports about the processed survey data.
•Act as focal point for projects during the processing and reporting phase. QUALIFICATIONS
•Diploma or Degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology, Engineering Design & Drafting Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline; or certification in related CAD/GIS courses preferred.
•Experience in the land surveying industry of big inch piepline construction projects.
•2 to 5 years of experience as a Survey Data Processor.
•Strong Knowledge of survey data acquisition, processing and reporting software.
•Proficient user of Trimble Business Center and Leica Geo Office for the processing and AutoCad Civil3D for the calculations.
•Competent working knowledge of ArcMap and ESRI tools and able to deal with variety of GIS data formats; i.e. DEM, LiDAR data set, imagery.
•Experience interacting and communicating effectively with field crews and client Liaison.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
•Ability to work effectively and competently with people at all levels in the organization; is an effective team member.
•Ability to work without supervision; effective time management and strong organizational skills.
•Contribute on an on-going basis toward maintaining a safe working environment both for yourself and for those working with you or in your close vicinity.
•Proficient in Windows; MS Word and other Microsoft Office applications.
•Ability to work to deadlines and see tasks through to completion.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
•Adaptable and able to think outside the box.
•Travel required within Western Canada.
