Role Description
Under the direction of the Manager or designate and aligned with Northern Health's mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities, the Occupational Therapist, Clinical Transformation supports designated units through in-person education for Safer Care and Clinical Documentation Activation. As part of the Clinical Transformation Team (CTT), the role provides clinical support before, during, and after Safer Care activation in acute facilities.
The Occupational Therapist leads and participates in learning sessions, workflow reviews, and skill building activities, and attends Safer Care Readiness meetings to share updates and resources with clinical teams. This position helps acute care teams prepare for go live by supporting clinicians, tracking and escalating issues, assisting with workload, and troubleshooting alongside the Safer Care team. The role collaborates with clinical teams and leaders to offer guidance on new features and changes to program workflows.
Travel to various Acute Care Sites based on operational need may be a requirement of this position. If applicable, transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Northern Health in accordance with the service assignment, and the incumbent must be able to operate a motor vehicle.
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00
Ksyen Regional Hospital
The new Ksyen Regional Hospital welcomed its first patients on November 24, 2024. More than double the size of the previous hospital, the facility features 82 beds, private rooms, and is a centre for trauma services, orthopedic surgeries, pathology, radiology, clinical support, and pharmacy services. The hospital is also a training site for medical students in the Northern Medical Program.
Terrace The thriving community of Terrace is northern living at its best. Snow-capped mountains, pristine glacier-fed rivers, lakes and streams all add to the beauty of this community. The main industries in Terrace are communications, transportation and natural resources. The population is approximately 12,700. There are nine elementary schools, four secondary schools, and Northwest Community College and a UNBC campus. Check out Terrace where there is always something new to experience.

Qualfications
• Graduation from a recognized university program in Occupational Therapy.
• Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia and eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists or British Columbia Society of Occupational Therapists.
• Minimum of one (1) year post-graduate experience in occupational therapy.
• Experience working with computer applications in the delivery of patient care.
• Valid BC Driver's license.

• Effective interpersonal, organizational, and teaching skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
• Knowledge of the resources and support services required for the development of clinical order sets.
• Ability to demonstrate techniques.

• Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
