    The Role:

    Global Relay is looking for a motivated and diligent Network Administrator to design, maintain, troubleshoot and monitor LAN/WAN networks and firewalls. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, recommending, and implementing networking technologies to ensure the highest level of availability and performance of Global Relay networks and applications. This individual will work closely with the IT Operations, IT Security and IT Infrastructure teams to ensure that all project plans and solutions are adequately defined, implemented, and maintained.

    Role Responsibilities:

    • Managing the implementation, maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of Global Relay's LANs and WANs networks and IT security solutions (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, VOIP)
    • Designing and implementing new network architectures to ensure high availability of Global Relay's mission-critical applications
    • Working closely with other teams to troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct network and security related issues
    • Working closely with the Development teams to understand application performance goals, gather requirements, and develop solutions
    • Developing logical and physical network diagrams
    • Continuously maintaining, monitoring and improving network performance
    • Assisting in determining standards and roadmaps for hardware and software
    • Performing packet capture analyses to troubleshoot network related issues
    • Logging all activity related to planned and unplanned maintenance and incident responses
    • Managing network assessment documentation and preventative management
    • Providing third level support for problems related to network and firewall environments
    • Assisting in managing firewall rules and access control lists
    • Participating in network and security incident response activities
    • Handling special projects and initiatives as assigned
    • Performing other network and security related tasks as required


    • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant software/computer related fields
    • 5+ years of experience supporting network infrastructure design and operations
    • Excellent understanding of protocols including STP, LACP, MLAG, Multicast, HSRP, BGP, OSPF
    • Excellent understanding of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, ACLs and VPN's
    • Excellent understanding of network architecture, design, and implementation
    • Excellent knowledge and experience in networking troubleshooting and administration
    • Knowledge of IP Telephony, Video Conferences, Codecs, IPTV
    • Knowledge of Wireless technologies, protocols and standards
    • Strong familiarity with HPE, Aruba, Fortinet networking and security technologies
    • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools and methods
    • Strong communication, organizational, documentation, and problem solving skills
    • Meticulous attention to detail
    • Ability to be highly confidential and discrete
    • Previous experience working in an environment with formally structured change management process would be considered an asset
    • HPE, Aruba, Fortinet, and Linux certifications would be considered an asset
