Requirements
  • Working towards an Undergraduate or Masters degree in Water Resources Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Data Science, or other engineering disciplines
  • Motivated self-starters with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic work environment with a willingness to work outdoors and able to operate vehicles at our operations, in various weather conditions and terrain
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with a capability to communicate complex ideas to all levels and partners
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day
  • Ensure all standard environmental practices are achieving the highest level of environmental stewardship and compliance
  • Undertake exploration and mining of large datasets including data preprocessing, analysis, validation, and interpretation
  • Complete basic hydrological analysis, reviews of water management reports, technical report writing, and formal presentations
  • Support senior staff with the development of regulatory reports
  • Assist with field data collection as well as collection of digital datasets from field instrumentation
  • Support various operational sites on as needed basis
  • Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business

All students will be required to complete pre-employment drug testing prior to commencing work. Proof of a valid work permit will also be required, if applicable.
