The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Relations, this role is part of our Member Experience (MX) team that supports and sustains our membership base by growing our membership and building strong relationships with each member company. 

You will be a seasoned ‘hunter’ who is confident in selling value over products. The future of technology and B.C.’s emerging economy excites you and you want to be part of a passionate team working towards an impactful mission.

Your day-to-day will be outbound-focused and reaching out to a targeted list of prospect members on the phone and in person. You will become a subject-matter-expert on BC Tech’s Member Value Proposition, program offerings, and be driven by incentivized weekly and monthly targets.


This role will have a base + commission pay structure with quotas set monthly and commissions paid monthly. You will also have MSP and extended health coverage and 3 weeks vacation + week off between Christmas and New Years.


What you will do:
  • Make calls to targeted lists of prospect companies and emphasize BC Tech’s Member Value Proposition with the goal of turning leads into new member sign-ups within our target segments.
  • Get past ‘gatekeepers’ and in touch with decision makers; these are often C-Level executives and you are confident in driving the conversation.
  • Manage the tracking of leads and provide accurate, informative and actionable weekly reports to your Manager.
  • Ensure all relevant information from conversations are documented in Salesforce for each account.
  • Ensure smooth handover of activities once new member is ready to be onboarded.


Who you are:

  • Hunter mindset with positive, high energy and a sense of urgency
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in business development, outbound sales; comfortable with cold-calling and getting past gatekeepers
  • Strong and confident communicator with prior experience selling to senior level executives
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets
  • You’re no stranger to Salesforce and understand the importance of documenting throughout the sales cycle
  • Resilient, self-driven, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
