As an Medical Office Assistant you will provide excellent client care by assisting the medical and professional staff in managing client activity. You will develop strong relationships with other health providers in the community including general practitioners and specialists. To this end, you will work together with support staff in various physician and professional offices to build one-on-one relationships that will facilitate ongoing communications and cross-referrals.Here's how
•Scheduling appointments and arranging for specialist consultationsQualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzleExperience / Knowledge:
•Preparing clients for tests and examinations
•Updating medical records
•Contacting clients to remind them of required tests, examinations and follow up consultations
•Participating in the company's health plan programs
•Making calls from time to time to clients under the direction of the medical and professional staff to encourage health plan compliance
•Provide support for general office administrative functions including medical records management
•Minimum of one year of medical office experience preferable in a private entrepreneurial environment Skills and Abilities:
•Minimum two years of healthcare experience and medical terminology greatly preferred
•Experience in Mental Health would be an asset
•Good knowledge of Word, although more extensive computer knowledge is and asset as well as 45 words per minute typing speed Work Conditions / Physical Requirements:
•Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
•A team player capable of interacting professionally with staff and physicians with a positive attitude
•Ability to handle and communicate effectively with challenging clients
•You will be required to work in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting Thank you!
•Typically you would work office hours however; some flexibility may be required to accommodate service requirements for the operation
•You will be working in an office environment, which may require extended periods of time completing computer related work
•You will work an eight hour day with an additional minimum of half hour for lunch
•You may be required to travel for meetings and centre support
