As an Medical Office Assistant you will provide excellent client care by assisting the medical and professional staff in managing client activity. You will develop strong relationships with other health care providers in the community including general practitioners and specialists. To this end, you will work together with support staff in various physician and health care providers offices to build one-on-one relationships that will facilitate ongoing communications and cross-referrals.Here's how
•Scheduling appointments and arranging for specialist consultationsQualifications:You're the missing piece of the puzzle with:
•Preparing clients for tests and examinations
•Updating medical records
•Contacting clients to remind them of required tests, examinations and follow up consultations
•Participating in the company's health plan programs
•Connecting with clients, supporting continuity of care
•Provide support for general office administrative functions including medical records management
•Minimum of one year of medical office experience and/or two years of healthcare experience Work Conditions / Physical Requirements:
•Familiarity with medical terminology an asset
•Medical Office Assistant Certification an asset
•Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience an asset
•Good knowledge of Word, although more extensive computer knowledge is and asset as well as 45 words per minute typing speed
•Exceptional organizational and customer service skills
•A team player capable of interacting professionally with staff and physicians with a positive attitude
•Ability to handle and communicate effectively with clients
•You will be required to work in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting. Typically you would work office hours however; some flexibility may be required to accommodate service requirements for the operation. A bit about us
•Our clinic is open Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. Shifts will be 8 am to 4:30 pm or 8:30 am to 5 pm.
