TELUS is proud to support local communities and content creators. Through the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) funding, the TELUS Local Content team provides production grants, training, live streaming and distribution opportunities to diverse filmmakers and content creators in BC and Alberta. We distribute these stories to over one million TELUS Optik TV customers as well as to audiences online. We are focused on empowering underrepresented organizations, communities and individuals to tell their stories through our STORYHIVE and Community Content programs.

We are a team of highly skilled, diverse and passionate professionals dedicated to creating a space that amplifies storytellers' voices and is free of barriers so all communities in BC and Alberta have access to create, distribute and discover stories that matter to them. Expertise of our team is built by folks who bring a variety of identities and lived experiences, as well as professional experience in film/TV production, marketing, community building, equity and more.

Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together

You'll take a primary role on a team that loves storytelling and is invested in the impact it can have on our communities. Watching over all marketing and communications initiatives for STORYHIVE programs, you will design and launch marketing and outreach campaigns for all STORYHIVE programs. You will also oversee both social media and earned media campaigns for the Local Content Team, ensuring that all initiatives promote social-purpose storytelling. You'll help us engage with partners across Western Canada, and create and deliver customized distribution plans that will use our powerful social purpose films to reach audiences locally, nationally and globally. Your leadership will help shape the strategy, community impacts and customer experience for years to come.

Here's how:
    •Continue to develop and grow the STORYHIVE brand, building trust and awareness in key markets and communities including LGBTQAI+ and Black, Indigenous and racialized creators.
    •Drive communications, media relations, and program strategy oversight, as well as ad hoc projects and initiatives.
    •Manage our social media strategy and collaborate with our social media partner to lead engaging and impactful digital marketing strategies.
    •Collaborate internal and external stakeholders and partners to drive media relations, community engagement and brand storytelling.
    •Help us engage with primary stakeholders across Western Canada - including TELUS teams (Digital, GTM, Brand, etc.), external distribution and brand professionals, partners and agencies - to create and execute customized distribution plans that leverage our social purpose content to reach audiences locally, nationally and globally.
    •Successfully develop and track key performance metrics, resolve challenges and deliver differentiated customer solutions.
    •Unify team members and external partners with your vision, inspiration and organization and offer thought leadership in strategic planning, assessments and overcoming obstacles.
    •Ensure our marketing efforts are innovative, accessible and reflect our inclusive values.


Qualifications:


You're the missing piece of the puzzle if you are:
    •Committed to representation, equity and inclusion, and open to incorporating inclusive best practices for social justice into work every day.
    •A proficient communicator and competent writer who is able to create briefs for a variety of projects and partners. You are known for your ability to turn information into insight, present recommendations, form and sell ideas and influence outcomes.
    •Familiar with developing strategies for digital content across multiple platforms, including management of brand identity, campaign design, content calendar and data collection and measurement.
    •Understanding of digital ecosystem and content strategy including inclusive storytelling and social purpose stories and screen-based storytelling and cultural industries.
    •Able to effectively problem solve and manage multiple deliverables to meet deadlines and goals in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and ambiguous environment.
    •Known for your ability to work in a highly-collaborative, cross-functional setting, with an ability to co-create and execute with other stakeholders.
    •A creative self-starter with very strong interpersonal and organizational skills. You can monitor and manage high volume workloads while taking ownership, initiative and showing a sense of urgency and self-direction.
    •Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Suite and Slack, and adopt new tools and platforms easily (e.g. Google Hangouts, Airtable, etc).
    •Experienced in Marketing or Communications (i.e. 5+ years of relevant work experience).
