Position Purpose and Summary:
The Professional Engineer is responsible for providing direction to estimators for solutions that create
strategic approaches to winning bids. The professional engineer is responsible for ensuring that our
specified product is in compliance with all Building Codes and all Life Safety Aspects. The Professional
Engineer will also drive and develop our internal engineering department, codes of conduct and
standards while providing direction and support on product innovation of current and future products.
In addition to having your P.Eng., you have experience in new and existing building construction for
single family homes and multi-unit residential buildings including an understanding of how to identify
and diagnose energy efficiency opportunities.

Have an understanding of technology such as AutoCad, Excel, Window Maker and CRM.

Pre-quote engineering review
Consultant / Architect strategies
Contractor / Developer strategies
Product knowledge and manufacturing background
Codes and standards – ability to quote and meet code
P.Eng., P.E. with a focus on glass and component design
Ability to stamp and seal shop drawings
Knowledge of all BC Building Codes and ability to satisfy all Life Safety Aspects
Reports to VP of Sales & Business Development

Key Collaborators: Estimation Team, Project Managers, R&D committee
Expert in Codes, Standards and Testing - By Achieving Product certification, leading Research
and development, getting Product approvals and Lab and field testing oversight
Completing Shop Drawings and Engineering - Sign and seal drawings, Provide letters of
Assurance, Field Inspection, Liaise with other Engineer reviews, Shop drawing format and
templates, Internal drawing standards
Estimating – Produce Pre-engineered solutions for estimates, Economics in design,
Engineered solutions for quote approval, Highrise design oversight
Quality controls of Production Oversight – Achieving 3 rd party Certification (CSA & NFRC),
QA/QC – Water Penetration Resistance , Structural Limitations and Steel, Glass thickness
requirements, Window coupling, Oversized solutions
Development Leadership - Strategize future products, Research future codes
Customer Service - Provide engineered solutions for cut-ins, Beam designs for large
openings, SO homeowner solutions, Permit applications for MFSI when required
