Partner Management is a small, high impact and engaged team that drives value for our customers and shareholders through the oversight and enablement of the 3rd party partner organizations that deliver install and repair (I+R) services to TELUS' residential wireline customers. We work with four strategic vendors to enable customer service delivery across British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, making a difference for hundreds of thousands of customers via a focus on high quality outcomes, labour flexibility and collaborative partnerships to enable win-win outcomes for both TELUS and our partners.

Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish

As the Manager responsible for the newly formed Vendor Strategy, Contracts & Financials team, you will be responsible for the end-to-end procurement of 3rd party contractor support for TELUS' wireline products to our residential customers. In this role, you will oversee the strengthening of our vendor relationships and the successful contractor enablement of TELUS services via a well thought out vendor strategy, savvy negotiation and drafting of win-win contractual arrangements, the sound oversight of the I+R vendor spend budget and the proactive pursuit of cost reduction and efficiency opportunities.

Ultimately, you will advance TELUS' business objectives in the residential wireline space by pursuing the highest quality and most flexible 3rd party technician labour support while doing so at the lowest viable cost to serve.

Here's how

Enabled by your team of six, your peers in Partner Management and partnering with critical TELUS stakeholder groups such as Procurement, Finance and Products + Services, you will be at the epicenter of decision making governing 1000 contractor technicians and ~$150M in vendor spend.

These decisions will include overall Install + Repair vendor strategy as well as support for tactical labour procurement decisions to support TELUS' customer availability goals. In the area of financials, your decisions will shape the formation of our annual I+R vendor spend budget and monthly re-forecasting while you simultaneously identify and pursue cost reduction and efficiency opportunities for TELUS. Your decisions on vendor strategy and financials will further inform your leadership and support of our vendor contract negotiations which will include negotiation strategy, negotiation facilitation and oversight of contract drafting. These decisions will be made every day as you both carry forward and re-define our existing vendor service relationships, while simultaneously coordinating the back office enablement of new product launches and new service pilots.


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •University degree in Business, Engineering, or the Sciences that informs a structured but creative approach to problem solving that includes decomposition, brainstorming solutions and business casing •Previous team leadership experience, including motivating and coaching a group of diverse individuals and business functions •Prior working and/or leadership experience in at least one of: vendor management, procurement, finance, product development or consulting •Strong comfort level and familiarity with financials & contract writing

    •Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree •Prior experience in wireline telecommunications and/or field service delivery •Direct prior working experience in financials & contract writing
