The Purchasing & Inventory Management team is looking for a passionate and talented individual to lead a team of subject matter experts (SME) focused on delivering exceptional customer service and enabling the delivery of TELUS products and services to our customers.

As the Manager of Purchasing & Inventory Management (PIM) within our Supply Operations team, you will be instrumental in ensuring your internal customers and stakeholders benefit from industry leading material availability.

You will lead the planning, purchasing, and inventory management for materials that support multiple lines of business including TELUS PureFibre™, TELUS OPTIK TV™, business services, data centres and many more. It's a tall order and also needs you to continuously optimize business processes, develop and apply best practices, and drive savings in time and money while increasing quality of service.

You are a PIM expert and leader whom the team and internal stakeholders look to that can see the big picture without losing sight of the important details and create a highly engaged and collaborative culture.

Here's how
    Trusted Expert Advisor & Collaborator:
      •Work closely with multiple internal stakeholders including Planning & Engineering, Technology Standards, Construction & Field Operations, the broader Supply Operations team, and many external partners & vendors to:
        •Introduce and implement supply chain management best practices with a focus on disciplined execution, meeting or exceeding internal customer and external supply market expectations •Manage forecasting and planning activities for materials supporting TELUS PureFibre™, TELUS OPTIK TV™, business services, data centres and many more •Manage the life-cycle of materials including the optimisation of surplus and obsolete inventory •Deliver continuous improvement across key performance indicators (KPIs) measuring the service, cost and quality of our supply chain
    People Leader:
      •Lead and develop a high performing and highly engaged team •Nurture the personal and career development of team members to ensure they are well positioned to be able to support the changing needs of TELUS and our customers •Advance the skills and capabilities of the team to be able to be agile and adapt to change
    Transformational Leader:
      •Contribute to and support the development of the PIM & Supply Operations strategic plans •Develop and execute initiatives that will transform operating practices across the company •Further strengthen the continuous improvement mindset of the team to seek out opportunities to drive out inefficiencies, including applying Lean Six Sigma (LSS) practices


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •Passion for and expertise in the supply chain discipline, with a commitment to delivering an exceptional customer experience •Strong business and financial acumen combined with an innovative and process improvement mindset •Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation, and presentation skills, including conveying complex concepts or data in a simple, easy to understand manner to all levels, from front line to senior leaders •Superior analytical, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills •8 years of equivalent experience, including:
      •5 years of experience in a supply chain role •2 or more years of experience leading a team
    •Experience with purchasing & inventory management systems: SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) •Bachelor's degree

    •Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) designation from American Production & Inventory Control Society (APICS) and/or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation from Supply Chain Management Association (SCMA)
