The Manager, Product and Services focusing on Emerging Technology is responsible for the innovation, incubation and solution development of key next wave technologies that we need to position to the market. This is required to ensure protection, growth and transformation of our B2B customer base and allow entry to new markets. The work will require assessment across all business segments, applicable verticals and potential opportunities on B2B-B2C convergence. This role will work in collaboration with the CIO to maximize and evolve corporate investments and the TELUS Partner Hub team to utilize the strength of dynamic partner ecosystem to deliver these outcomes.

As the Manager of Product and Services focusing on Emerging Technology - you will build and lead a new team of highly engaged professionals through a variety of fast paced and exciting challenges. Here are the competencies we are looking for:
    •Proven market results via strong product management, service development and marketing background •Proven consulting, solution development competencies in various technologies, services and industries •Proven experience in business and enterprise architecture and design •Proven entrepreneurial mindset in the creation of solutions and translation to market products and services (business outcome/market sensitive) •Very strong analytical abilities, financial acumen and strategic thinking •Very strong pragmatic approach to problem solving driving solutions based on scenarios and time horizon •Very strong background in systems thinking & design thinking •Very strong background on innovation: value creation, profit model tactics and disruption drivers •Very strong background in incubation, acceleration and business scaling •Very strong understanding and actual application of digital transformation imperatives •Demonstrated management leadership skills - i.e. ability to build high performance teams, motivate and influence employees to exceed performance initiatives, and possess an understanding of the business and financial elements of a large operation •Very strong experience in integrating cost-benefit analysis into business decisions to ensure maximum value •Very strong experience in integrating data driven position for business evolution to drive the right lever for growth and scaling •Very strong understanding and application experience in some if not all of the following emerging technologies:
      •Digital Platforms/ecosystems: Next generation OSS, BSS and Others •Multi-cloud/Hyperscalers •Blockchain •Automated Intelligence and Machine Learning •Data and Visual Insights •Robotic Applications •Micro-Services •Quantum Computing •Others: 5G, Secure Access Service Edge, Mobile Edge Computing, SD-WAN, cybersecurity and NFV and IoT •Next wave technologies: 4th wave and new paths
    •Proven leadership in growth tactics for new portfolios, utilizing multi-lever play in expanding the coverage of new solutions for the market and driving X-portfolio strategies to maximize business •Proven knowledge and leadership in partner ecosystems in various outcome disciplines: technology, services and others •Proven knowledge and leadership in vertical solution development and monetization •Big picture thinker who can provide end-to-end oversight to typically silo-ed functions, great collaborator and can drive team based results (based on cross portfolio product functions) •Ability to understand corporate business strategies and company's goals, and apply this understanding to make systems/technology development decisions •Strong influential skills to shape the development for strategies for Emerging Technology shape or obtain the support of executive level management, and elicit cooperation and consensus from key stakeholders •Excellent interpersonal and communication skills •Proven ability to drive negotiated outcomes while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships •Well-developed writing skills to articulate ideas that involve interpretation, analysis and assessment •Present ideas at senior leadership level; develop and secure alignment through authority, personal credibility, and approachability •Enhance our governance and reporting capabilities to drive better decisions and business outcomes •Passion for excellence, strong work ethic and solutions-oriented

    •Develop a team to enable solution development for emerging technologies •Develop solution based on emerging technologies to drive business/market outcome •Develop innovation stream and incubation tactics to prove monetization and scaling of solutions •Design an evolution framework for emerging technologies: horizontal, vertical needs and combinatorial tactics to drive new digital economies •Drive solution selection through corporate investment maximization or validation through partner ecosystems •Package solutions for segments, enable entry position for new/untapped markets •Enable proactive benefits management •Ensure partnership need tactics are outlined in driving solutions: business reciprocity, •Lead a team of product management and senior consultants to drive innovation for the market •Lead and develop teams maintaining the high performance TELUS culture



Qualifications:

Your ideal profile includes
    •At least 7+ years of technology and services consulting, solution and service development background •At least 7+ years of systems thinking, design thinking and UX background in solution development •At least 7+ years of strong frameworks knowledge and execution on pragmatic marketing, product management methodologies and processes •At least 7+ years, of financial analysis and business case development experience, strategy development methodologies •At least 5+ years, of strong background in IT architecture, delivery and operations •At least 5+ years, of strong IT Service Management practice experience: multi-tech and multi-organizational design competencies •At least 5+ years, Solid ITIL, TMF, TOGAF and PMP and Agile Product and Project Management background •Strong knowledge of wireless / fixed broadband, Telecom and non-Telecom IT applications, systems, platforms and services •Performance management and leadership methodologies •Engineering, IT or related technical degree with MBA preferred, or MBA with strong technical background and demonstrated experience/competence working with IP, wireless and related technologies, or 10+ years business background in a technology industry with relevant experience in a product management or development role
