Here's the impact you'll make and what we'll accomplish together

As the Manager, Planning & Engineering - Equipment, you will manage and lead a team responsible for equipment engineering for our radio access networks (RAN) and microwave backhaul networks (MW). You will promote and support a customer first culture by ensuring equipment deployment, availability and integrity to deliver a best-in-industry customer experience.

Here's how

You will provide leadership to a team accountable for:
    •Working closely with the RAN development team on establishing a multi-vendor roadmap
    •Developing standard and scalable equipment configurations to support network growth
    •Contributing in strategic planning by developing, optimizing and maintaining unit cost for various deployment scenarios
    •Supporting procurement in various RFPs by providing recommendations based on TCO, deployment scenarios and technical product specifications
    •Identifying and quantifying the radio equipment needed for cell site related projects
    •Identifying and quantifying the microwave or fibre equipment needed for wireless or wireline projects
    •Determining and documenting the physical connection configuration (floor plans, rack layouts, connection diagrams, etc.) and for reserving the bill of material in SAP
    •Coach, mentor and develop team members
    •Work collaboratively across teams and business units to drive New Technology Introduction
    •Leverage standardization, automation and outsourcing to achieve profitable growth and efficiency
    •Work collaboratively with third party external vendors to develop, select new equipment aligned with Wireless RAN requirements


Qualifications:


You're the missing piece of the puzzle

In depth knowledge of:
    •3GPP (UMTS/HSPA/LTE/NR) radio access network equipment
    •RAN/MW tools & best practices
    •IP networks
    •Telecommunications industry best practices
    •Project management and procurement best practices
    •Strong track record of delivering on goals and objectives
    •10 or more years of RAN or MW engineering experience
    •3 or more years demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring and leading a team
    •5 or more years of experience with 3GPP (LTE and NR) radio access network equipment, microwave/fibre equipment and IP networks
    •Bachelor's degree in engineering

Great-to-haves
    •Masters degree in engineering or telecom is an asset
    •P.Eng certification in Canada is an asset
