POSITION OVERVIEW

The incumbent is responsible for managing logistics, warehouse and transportation duties, and will be responsible for the overall supply chain management to enhance business development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategically plan, organize and manage logistics, warehouse and transportation activities
  • Review and follow operational policies, procedures and standards and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Implement and maintain a cycle count program
  • Assist with projecting inventory levels and adapt to ongoing changes in production plans, lead time and demand
  • Review and analyze budgets and expenditures. Analyze financial impact of logistics changes, routing, shipping modes, etc.
  • Supervise, coach and train team to develop skills and meet goals
  • Develop and maintain KPIs, metrics, inventory reports, process documentation, training and safety records to assess performance and implement improvements
  • Promote quality and efficiency improvements and provide feedback on occupational health and safety hazards
  • Serve as subject matter expert in future ERP enhancements and integrate efforts across operational departments
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with company processes
  • Resolve any operational related problems or complaints
  • Ensure team members are aware of job hazards and work with safety in mind at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • 7+ years of relevant experience as a logistics manager or relevant position, preferably in bio-technology/pharmaceutical industry and/or GMP environments
  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain, transportation, logistics, business, or related fields is essential; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Good understanding in Harmonized Tariff Schedule, import/export custom regulations & Incoterms 2010
  • Strong project management skills with ability to supervise multiple projects
  • Proficient computer skills with MS office suite
  • Knowledge about SAP software (multiple modules) an asset
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
