Reporting directly to the Vice President: Technology Solutions, the Manager: Information Technology is responsible for ensuring all enterprise applications, networks, telecommunications and hardware is fully functional at all times.  The incumbent is responsible for the development and implementation of the entire technical infrastructure from which all computing activities occur and for implementing best practices regarding networks, telecommunications, security (logical and physical) and many procedures that ensure a highly reliable and secure infrastructure.

In addition, the incumbent provides leadership to develop the architecture and computing solutions for Kootenay Savings and any other organization for which Kootenay Savings provides IT services. This includes the management of projects that involve virtualization, cloudization and the building and maintaining of a high availability disaster recovery site. 

The ideal incumbent will possess:

  • University degree/technical designation in a related field combined with 5 years of professional/managerial experience 
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience with information technology systems, networks, security best practices & technologies, infrastructure, operations, and management, some at a supervisory level including project management education and experience managing projects
  • Experience in recruiting, work allocation, performance management from initiation of project through to completion
  • Financial institution experience including exposure to technology and systems consistent with Kootenay Savings Credit Union environment
  • Expertise in the use of IT concepts and best practices to ensure a secure and efficient environment
  • Solid understanding of telecommunications networks, technology capabilities, technical architecture including technical planning, design and implementation
  • Advanced knowledge of IT best practices and the ability to keep abreast of new technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to develop leading edge IT strategies relating to business objectives and to translate strategies in tactical plans
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain a network of internal and external relationships and maximize collaboration potential
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong skills in team building, consensus building, coaching, mentoring, delegating and conflict resolution
  • Strong focus on customer service and service delivery
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
