SPS has an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Applications Services to join our team leading SPS’s Application Services team in the design, configuration/development, and deployment of SPS’s enterprise application systems.

 

Reporting to the Manager, Information Management and Technology, the successful candidate will have a thorough understanding on the importance of how technology can enhance and support a connected, progressive, and engaged municipal policing agency. This position is responsible for the creation of, and management of SPS’s technological roadmap related to application services including maintenance and enhancements; planning, organizing, and leading application projects and strategies; conducting research, analysis, and making design recommendations on new/critical application infrastructure; and overseeing release planning, application security patching, and other related application services.

 

The successful candidate is a proven leader of teams and projects, a relationship builder, and a facilitator that can balance organizational and individual interests with operational capacity to adapt to changing technologies. The successful candidate is an effective communicator and influencer, comfortable presenting complex IT solutions, both written and verbal, to senior leaders and board members including connecting to SPS’s strategic priorities with a keen awareness of budgetary and operational considerations.

 

The successful candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science; Computer Information Systems/Technology; Business Administration or related field by a recognized educational institution supplemented by 5-7 years experience within a leadership position preferably within a policing and/or public sector organization. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

 

SPS has a vaccination policy in effect with requirements for all current and future employees. Applicants under consideration will be required to undergo a security clearance process. (the process is more than a PIC process.
