Lead, manage, and direct the implementation of operations and production control process

Join our team

Lead some of the brightest mainframe experts in Canada, as your team cares for the mainframe cloud's infrastructure that supports our customer's mission critical applications. This team provides support for Mainframe services for both TELUS and TELUS external customers.

This is a fast paced environment with monthly changes to maintain the environments, and you will work with your team to ensure these changes are reviewed and successfully implemented.

Here's how
    •Engage with customers on a weekly basis, ensuring SLAs are met •Work with team to ensure environments are maintained through monthly changes •Manage a 100% remote team, providing required support on a daily basis, as well as during off-hour escalations and/or urgent issues •Work to expand the number of customers on the Mainframe Cloud environment •Work creatively to onboard customers and develop a long term vision, ensuring the cloud is built for future growth •Ensure high engagement levels with team members and external customers •Work with team members to set quarterly goals and conduct performance reviews •Contribute to the overall capital planning for the Mainframe Cloud and work with other leaders to manage annual maintenance costs (software and hardware) •Work with team members to manage the hardware components of the Mainframe Cloud •Work with our TELUS International partner to expand the Cloud into the US and expand the customer base in Canada

Great-to-haves
    •7+ years of experience in IT operations •Bilingual (English/French) •University degree and/or equivalent combination of experience and education •ITIL, Lean Six Sigma certification •Technical and analytical skills, using judgment when making and owning technical decisions •Understanding of z/OS and LPAR deployments on IBM Mainframes •Google Suite, Excel skills, and Microsoft Suite of applications •Ability to utilize client specific reporting tools to extract data metrics •Ability to collaborate with a variety of diverse groups and team (internal / external) to effectively introduce and implement change in the work place •Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills, and effective presentation skills •A deep understanding of IT operations best practices including operations and batch control process
