Linux Systems Administrator / DevOps

The team you will be working with is an impressive group of approximately 30 technology professionals in the Vancouver office – they provide enterprise software products and business solutions. What you need to have:
•5+ years’ experience in IT Operations and Support with a focus on web-based enterprise software
•Expertise in administering and tuning J2EE Containers (Tomcat, WebLogic, JBoss, GlassFish)
•Linux system administration expertise
•Experienced in environments containing Relational and NoSQL databases
•Experience with Load balancers, firewall, storage devices and virtual environments.
•Ability to travel in the US and Canada for business meetings (up to 50% of the time – typically 2-3 day trips on weekdays on the West Coast)
What you will be doing:
•As part of a growing team of thirty high tech professionals, your initial focus will be on becoming an expert on their product and environment
•You will focus primarily on delivering architectural, technical design, development and deployment services on a variety of assignments from short-term consulting to full life-cycle implementation projects.
•Analyze system bottlenecks and performance issues. Remediate issues around security, application tuning, operating systems, networking, server administration, storage, load balancing and connectivity.
•Assist customers and partners with architecting applications and services. Assist with implementations to ensure superb performance and operability under a variety of operating environments and loads
•As a Consultant, you will work directly with clients and consulting partners, acting as a technical consultant for troubleshooting at current clients and providing expertise on go-lives for new clients
•Enjoy a variety of shorter-term projects (2-3 weeks) where you will ensure clients are getting the benefits expected from the software to help them achieve their business objectives
