POSITION SUMMARY

Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice, administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer, separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.

The Client Services department is seeking an analytical, collaborative and service-oriented individual for the regular full-time position of Senior Business Analyst (Service Transformation).

Reporting to the Director, Client Services, the Senior Business Analyst (Analyst) plays a critical role in the design, mapping, and implementation of business transformation solutions to improve service delivery to MLAs, constituency office staff and caucus staff. The Analyst leads engagements and planning with departments across the organization to acquire in-depth knowledge of business areas and gain information on trends and opportunities, conducts requirements analyses, performs the necessary evaluations, and documents processes and workflows. The Analyst provides strategic advice to departmental and organizational leadership on business transformation initiatives and related matters that may drive or inform decision-making on operational efficiencies and continuous improvement opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must be/have:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, with at least five years of experience in business needs identification/assessment, major business transformation and integration, process development and mapping, and workflow development and management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience leading business transformation initiatives and supporting teams using recognized project management approaches.
  • Experience in facilitating, influencing, problem-solving, and consensus-building to establish effective partnerships with stakeholders for business transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in a complex service-oriented environment.

Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
  • Certification in business analysis or process management optimization/improvement is an asset.
  • Experience in parliamentary or public sector environments is an asset.
