Position Summary

The Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) Administrator possesses an in-depth knowledge of laboratory processes, workflows and practices in order to maximize the use of clinical information systems. The role is a champion for electronic medical records / health records. They collaborate with laboratory staff and others in the evaluation, design, development, testing, implementation, changes and training of LIS. They also provide LIS regional support for incidents and problems, and ensure effective operations of the system, and participate as key members of LIS related projects.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 08:00 to 16:00

Qualfications
•Graduation from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology program (General)
•Certified and registered as a CSMLS with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science
•Four (4) years recent experience comprised of:
•Two (2) years recent related experience in a Laboratory department.
•Two (2) years recent related experience developing, implementing, maintaining and/or supporting clinical Laboratory Information Systems (LIS);
•Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

•Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software and working knowledge of operating systems and clinical systems.

•Ability and willingness to travel regionally and provincially.
