As a Lab Technician, you will be responsible for performing and assisting with pulp mill environmental and laboratory functions. These tasks are designed to ensure adherence to both current and forthcoming regulatory requisites. Your core duties encompass the performance of environmental sampling, evaluations, and analyses. Your unwavering commitment to accuracy guarantees thorough examination of water effluent, air emissions, and potable water, all geared towards satisfying the conditions specified in permits. The role is for a
temporary,
2-year contract with the potential for a long-term opportunity.
A day in the life of a Lab Technician includes:
- Conducting environmental samples as required
- Providing environmental testing analysis, data management, and preparing compliance reporting for the mill, regulatory, and other agencies
- Testing water effluent, air emissions, and potable water to ensure they meet permit requirements
- Monitoring the operation of biological treatment basins and air emissions controls
- Assisting with laboratory testing for other process conditions as required
- Maintaining environmental testing laboratory, ensuring compliance with both ISO:9001 under CPL's QMS and ISO:14001 under CPL's EMS
For this role, come equipped with: - A technical diploma in a related field
- Laboratory experience
- Demonstrated computer skills in data management and analysis
- Excellent safety skills and awareness
