Job Description

Horizon Recruitment is recruiting for a Junior Accountant on a contract basis to support day-to-day accounting operations and help keep financial processes accurate, organized, and running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is eager to learn, contribute to a collaborative team, and build a strong foundation in accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Support month-end close activities including journal entries and reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Help prepare financial reports and summaries for internal use
  • Review and verify invoices, expense reports, and transactions
  • Assist with bank and account reconciliations
  • Respond to internal inquiries related to financial data
  • Support audit preparation by organizing and gathering required documents
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency
  • Collaborate with team members on ad hoc accounting tasks and projects

Requirements

  • Recent graduate or up to 2 years of accounting experience
  • Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Comfortable working with Excel and learning new systems
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Remuneration

$25-30/hr
