JD EDWARDS APPLICATION SUPPORT ANALYST
The successful candidate should be a self-motivated achiever who gains satisfaction from providing excellent application support services and thrives in a team based environment. The incumbent is responsible for providing system application support for the delivery of sound system solutions and process improvements. Effectively, the JD Edwards Application Support Analyst supplies the function with planning, conducting and executing the analysis of complex business problems to be solved with improved business processes and/or system enhancements/automation. In addition, will provide technical and functional assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing systems solutions/procedures that are cost-effective and meet end-user requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Field incoming problem tickets from end users to resolve application and software issues
  • Record, track, and document the problem-solving process, including all successful and unsuccessful decisions made, and actions taken, through to final resolution in the IT service desk system
  • Prioritize, schedule, and administer all instances where enhancements and defect resolution are required
  • Evaluate documented resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent repeated future problems
  • Communicate application problems and issues to key stakeholders, including management, development teams, end users, and unit leaders
  • Test fixes and perform post-resolution follow-ups to ensure problems have been adequately resolved
  • Participate in the design, development, and delivery of software applications training programs and individual classes
  • Assist in the development and maintenance user manuals and guidelines
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including the installation of service packs, patches, hot fixes, and so on
  • Analyze and assess existing business systems and procedures
  • Assist in the definition, development, and documentation of software’s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specifications on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments
  • Collaborate with developers, programmers, and designers in conceptualizing and development of new software programs and applications
  • Assist in defining software development project plans, including scoping, scheduling, and implementation
  • Consistently write, translate, and code software programs and applications according to specifications
  • Conduct research on emerging application development software products, languages, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of new software products or systems and for resolution of any adaptation issues
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform software improvements and upgrades
  • Accurately document and manage trouble instances in the IT trouble ticket system according to the established guidelines
  • Work closely with sales system support team to identify areas of opportunities to leverage technology to drive efficiencies that will reduce cycle time, increase inventory turns, exception-based management, and key productivity
  • Drive standardized business processes among sales and distribution, manufacturing and supply chain systems/functions to simplify business
  • Work closely with management to understand and prioritize business goals and information needs, then translate these needs to functional systems requirement documents and design specifications. Then refine conceptual systems design requirements into a high-level technical design document

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Post-Secondary degree, diploma or equivalent experience
  • 5 - 10 years as JDE Enterprise One (v.9.2) Sales and Distribution Systems and Manufacturing
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Six Sigma and/or other methodologies for continuous quality
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and experience, serving as a systems analyst (Lead), for large-scale ERP
  • Strong understanding of software development process from design, requirements gathering, analysis, deployment, testing methodologies, training, change management and production
  • Solid customer services skills, organizational management and exceptional communication skills, both oral and written
  • Solid understanding of business practices with a fundamental conceptual understanding of project management
  • Excellent PC skills with business experience with MS Office applications (MS Project, PowerPoint, and Visio) and overall systems
  • Prior Manufacturing experience
