The Vancouver Board of Education welcomes applications for the position of: 

IT Systems Support (Information Technology Support C)

Department: Learning Information Technology (LIT)
Location: VSB Education Centre (1580 West Broadway)
Position Type: Permanent
Hours of work: 7 hours/day
Base Salary: $66,466.40 (+ extensive benefits package, & pension)

In this role, you will:

  • Research, design, architect, implement, monitor, troubleshoot, maintain and support server, storage and backup systems, directory and identity services and deployment and operations systems for server, storage, and cloud computing technologies and infrastructure
  • Administer, configure, and install server infrastructure, O365 applications and Azure Cloud
  • Establish standards and procedures, and write specifications, scripts (PowerShell), and document technical architecture and systems
  • Plan and coordinate LIT projects and serve as a technical resource on inter-divisional project teams
  • Develop and communicate key messages for diverse audiences
  • Research, evaluate and recommend vendor supplied applications and system features
  • Lead meetings, make presentations and liaise with clients, contractors, vendors, external groups, and other stakeholders
  • Supervise, train and provide direction to LIT team members
  • Provide information technology Support to the District
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Grade 12 plus a degree in information technology
  • Minimum of five years’ experience required in a relevant computer/technology discipline
  • Extensive knowledge, skill, and experience in designing, implementing, problem solving, and supporting server and cloud infrastructure, directory services, storage systems, and management tools
  • Experience administrating O365 applications and Azure cloud
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and experience in designing/delivering presentations
  • Must be able to meet the following assessment: hands-on 1 hour series of tasks/problems (70%+)
