We are currently looking for a full time IT Support individual for the Richmond office of a global leader in the development of enterprise data management and analysis software. The business works with world-class companies in every industry including energy and commodities. They offer a unique corporate culture and great work environment.

This is an onsite role that is focused on providing end user support. They are seeking candidates who have at least 3 years of experience as a Windows Engineer (or similar role) and ideally a solid understanding of Windows operating system, server hardware, and networking fundamentals and Linux.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide administrative and applications support to clients, as well as technical support to the organizations staff
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
  • Determine user needs and requirements, make recommendations for improvements
  • Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, optimize server performance, perform routine start up and close down, and maintain control records
  • Support and maintain existing Windows server based infrastructure
  • Assist in patching hardware appliances, workstations and servers
  • Perform installation and upgrades on computer hardware and networking software, operate master controls to monitor performance and to coordinate access and use of networks
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
  • Perform shell scripting and other basic scripting tasks
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and administer the use of LANs, WANs, and other systems, equipment, networks and core infrastructure systems
  • Maintain relevant documents and records
  • Participate as 24/7 on-call support

What You Bring

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Windows Engineer or similar role
  • University degree in Computer Science or college degree with a technical major
  • Windows Server 2012/2016 and Exchange 2016 experience is preferred
  • Experience with virtualization technologies and MS Hyper-V preferred
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator certification in Windows Sever 2012/2016 is an asset
  • Working knowledge of MS Teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proof of vaccinations required
