IT - Business Analyst – Agile DevOps

Are you a skilled, performance-driven business analyst with vision and experience working with Agile methodologies? If you excel at identifying and delivering business value through technology and love to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we want to hear from you.

 

As a DevOps business analyst, you’ll be part of our growing IT team in our head office in Richmond, B.C. You’ll be responsible for shaping technical products by gathering and defining business requirements and translating these needs into detailed functional design for our technical teams. You’ll help ensure the team’s success by providing a clear understanding of features, requirements, and processes to enable efficient product development. Your work will help our WorkSafeBC team in promoting workplace health and safety and providing support and rehabilitation to those who have been injured at work.

What you’ll do

As a business analyst in our DevOps team you will:

  • Assist product owners and business users to translate their requirements into user stories that will support development activities and acceptance criteria
  • Be a liaison between business users and the DevOps team, understanding and gathering product requirements from business users and translating them for software engineers, testers, solution engineers, and other members of the DevOps team
  • Define documents, test cases, and product backlog changes, and engage teams in continual feedback to drive planning
  • Write clear, concise requirements, expected outcomes, and acceptance criteria
  • Assist with high-level visioning by working with business stakeholders to define our long-term goals and strategic objectives for product and service streams
  • Interact with cross-functional teams by assisting product owners and scrum masters during planning, sizing, and estimating to drive business value, and maintain product vision throughout the product lifecycle

Your experience and educational background:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, or a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) field
  • A minimum of five years of experience as a business analyst, with at least one year of hands-on experience using Agile methodology
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
