The role of the Senior Technical Architect is to integrate and consolidate enterprise/sectorial technical architectures and platforms in support of Ministry or government strategic and operational goals. The successful candidate in this role will organize and manage projects concerned with the implementation of new infrastructures and services that will support the business applications and data resources of the ministry or government, and devise ways to efficiently share common services and technology components in a secure environment.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in computer science field or related discipline and five (5) years related experience; OR,
  • Diploma in computer science field or related discipline and seven (7) years related experience; OR,
  • Secondary School graduation or equivalent and nine (9) years of related experience.
  • Four (4) years of experience in a lead technical role, introducing and transforming enterprise technologies in a large and complex organization.
  • Two (2) years' experience managing the configuration and deployment of technical projects and core infrastructure.
  • Two (2) years' experience designing technical infrastructure, creating long term plans and strategies and developing technical requirements to support infrastructure technology services.
  • Experience in managing and supporting major business applications, in multiple areas, such as planning, designing, developing, supporting or maintaining applications.
  • Experience in monitoring the operation of large enterprise applications, remediating failures and performance issues, and applying disciplined change management practices.
  • Experience with UNIX/Linux or Windows operating system administration.
  • Experience in database administration using variety of database systems such as MS SQL Server, Oracle or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience working with Cloud technologies such as MS Azure or Amazon Web Services.
  • Experience implementing system automation and ensuring interoperability between cross-domain systems.
  • Experience supervising the work of project teams, contractors and/or staff such as: assigning, monitoring and reviewing work.

Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
  • Experience migrating legacy systems to Cloud environments.
  • Experience with applications hosted in the Cloud in an IaaS, PaaS or SaaS model.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery processes and environments such as Jenkins.

  • Willing and able to provide on call 24-hour support during peak periods.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies on the job
