The BC Government has developed a strategic vision for a person-centred and integrated health system in B.C. It is committed to reforming health systems delivery by improving quality and access to care, patient and clinician experience, and overall system efficiency. Digitization of health services is a critical component of the transformation journey to enable new ways to deliver services efficiently and effectively, allow patients to both self-manage and be more involved as a partner in their own care, and for providers and patients to be connected in real time. The Health Sector IMIT (HSIMIT) Division is leading this significant transformation initiative, guided by the Digital Health Strategy (DHS) and by working collaboratively with internal Ministry and external health sector partners.

This position is accountable for the planning, delivery and integration of multiple systems integration projects, custom build projects and other initiatives, including ensuring the Ministry receives optimum value for money. Portfolio 2 is one of the foundational strategic delivery pillars supporting the Digital Health Initiative to transforming primary, specialist and community care through digitally enabling primary care delivery. A key accountability of this role is to provide executive level reporting for large IM/IT projects and guidance to senior level staff to align to project expectations.

Job Requirements:
  • Degree, diploma, certification, or equivalent in technology, business, health administration, health informatics, computer science (information management / information technology), or other related field of study; and
  • A minimum of 5 yearscombined experience in IT systems development, project management and/or project coordination
  • Experience providing business analysis for key front line systems with complex interactive business processes and multi-ministry impacts.
  • Experience in the supervision of staff.

Preference will be given to applicants with:
  • Recent experience (within the last 3 years) in IM/IT planning and development, as well as business transformational/alignment projects.
  • Experience on initiatives related to digital health.
