The Government Digital Experience Division (GDX) is responsible for ensuring government services and information are available online through government's main web presence at, and that ministry programs and services are informed by the input and experiences of regular British Columbians.

GDX works to help government understand the informational needs of British Columbians, and to help British Columbians find and access the services they need from government. GDX supports people-focused policy development and great service experiences. The division delivers products and services to ministry partners and organizations including design and delivery of public engagement projects, field research with service users, plain language writing of online service information, analytics, and training. It supports the technology of online applications and websites including, and the technology that delivers news releases.


This is a chance to work on meaningful digital products and services with a central digital design and delivery team in the Ministry of Citizen Services in the B.C. government. The Online Service Solutions (OSS) team in the Government Digital Experience Division (GDX), works to build people-centred digital products. The team supports the design and delivery of widely used products like, content management, digital forms, search and Virtual Assistance. The multi-disciplinary OSS Design Team champions evidence-based design, accessibility and ongoing research with British Columbians to improve government's digital products and services.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

  • Diploma or higher in computer science or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of three years experience providing quality assurance on software.
  • Minimum of two years experience in each of the following:
    • Automated testing software (e.g. Jenkins, Selenium, Microsoft Test Manager).
    • Providing quality assurance on enterprise class Java and Web Based applications.
    • Providing quality assurance on web services and APIs interacting with relational databases.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following experience(s):
  • Aligning quality assurance with business analysis, project charters and work plans, and web design and development.
  • Leading teams of employees and contractors and interpreting technical information so it is easily understood by program staff, as well as articulating system-related information to individuals at all levels of an organization.
  • Creating DevOps pipelines. (e.g. Git Hub Actions).
  • Working in an agile development environment and using tools such as Jira to manage and report out on work
