Job Summary

The Team
Join our established Infrastructure Development Application Support team, a group of 8-10 experts dedicated to researching and implementing cutting-edge network technologies. We ensure the provincial network operates efficiently, supporting all government applications and services that citizens rely on. Collaborating with teams across implementation, operations, and engineering, we play a vital role in maintaining the critical infrastructure that powers BC's government and crown corporations. Our work directly impacts the delivery of essential services to the people of BC.

The Role
As a Lead Application Analyst, you'll lead a team while designing and maintaining scalable REST APIs for cutting-edge networking tools like Cradle Point, Jasper, and Starlink. You'll also develop automation frameworks to streamline tasks like testing, deployment, and data processing, ensuring efficiency and innovation. Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a computer science-related field and 2 years of *related experience; OR
  • Bachelor's degree in a computer science-related field and 3 years of *related experience; OR
  • Diploma in a computer science-related field and 4 years of *related experience; OR
  • Certificate or coursework in a computer science-related field and 5 years of *related experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

*Related experience must include the minimum years above in EACH of the following:
  • Education and Experience Requirements
  • Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and solid understanding of RESTful principles, API design patterns, and best practices.
  • Experience as an API Integration Developer or similar role and experience with API Management Platforms.
  • Experience in programming languages Perl and/or Python
  • Experience in the following technologies: UNIX and UNIX scripting.
  • Integrating automation tools with existing systems and applications to enhance functionality and efficiency.
  • Experience in troubleshooting large complex environments.


Preference may be given to applicants with one (1) or more of the following:
  • Experience working with network monitoring tools AppNeta, AKIPS and InterMapper.
  • Experience interfacing with Juniper MIST, Velo Orchestrator, and Cisco Jasper,
  • Experience interfacing with CradlePoint, and Starlink operational knowledge
  • Experience with ServiceNow, both in operational use and in using Rest APIs.

About this Position:
Remote work is allowed, this position can work up to full time from their home in British Columbia subject to an approved telework agreement. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a complete list of locations.
