The Attorney General is the legal advisor to the government of British Columbia and is charged with ensuring that the administration of public affairs is carried out in accordance with the law. The Ministry of Attorney General is structured to carry out this mandate under the direction of the Attorney General, and Legal Services Branch (LSB) supports the Ministry in fulfilling this mandate by serving as legal advisor to government in civil law matters. LSB provides legal advice to government and ensures that legal risks associated with government operations are reduced. LSB's clients include all ministries of the government, Cabinet and certain public agencies.

This position is responsible for managing the Branch's Litigation Management Systems (LMS) as well as supervising technical staff. Project deliverables will support the business applications and data resources of the LMS system within the Branch, and share common technology components with the ministry in a secure environment. The position is responsible for ensuring that all Legal Services Branch information technology practices, policies and procedures conform to Ministry and Government standards.

Job Requirements:
  • Diploma, certification or equivalent in the computer science field and at least (3) three years related work experience; OR,
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and a minimum of (4) four years related work experience.
  • Candidate must have the minimum required experience in each of the following:
    • At least (2) two years experience leading technical projects and providing technical direction to project resources.

Preference may be given to candidates who have the following:
  • Experience working with enterprise-class document review platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience in a legal field or environment.
  • Experience in a local, provincial, or federal government environment.

About this Position:
This position is based out of Victoria.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 2 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
An eligibility list may be established to fill both current and/or future permanent vacancies.
This position is excluded from union membership.
