As a Summer Student in our Geotechnical Engineering team, you'll gain hands-on field and technical experience, contribute to important investigations, and work alongside some of the brightest geoscientists and engineers in Western Canada.
Your Impact
- Conduct field investigations such as borehole logging, soil sampling, concrete/soil testing, and site inspections to support geotechnical project delivery.
- Assist in preparing technical documentation-including field reports, data summaries, and geotechnical logs-that contribute to project decisions.
- Support laboratory testing programs by organizing samples, recording data, and ensuring quality control.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on geotechnical assessments supporting transportation, mining, municipal, and energy projects.
- Apply geotechnical and geological principles to help develop safe, sustainable, and efficient engineering solutions.
- Contribute to project planning, logistics coordination, and equipment preparation to support smooth fieldwork execution.

- You're building expertise in Geotechnical, Geological, Civil, or Mining Engineering through hands-on academic or project work.
- You enjoy fieldwork and are comfortable working outdoors, sometimes in remote locations, while meeting all safety requirements.
- You bring curiosity and a problem-solving mindset to real-world geotechnical challenges.
- You have experience or interest in tools such as GIS, AutoCAD, Excel-based data analysis, or geotechnical logging software.
- You care about meaningful work-projects that enhance communities and support safe, resilient infrastructure.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $24.00 - $32.25
MB & ON: $22.50 - $30.25
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $21.50 - $30.25
