Are you an experienced software developer working in site reliability, ensuring the sustainability of business applications? We’re looking for a site reliability engineer to deploy, support, and optimize highly scalable, fault-tolerant cloud and hybrid systems. In this role, you’ll maintain competency in and collaborate with multiple functional areas, including software development, debugging and troubleshooting code, infrastructure integration, and security. You’ll use your knowledge of software development, systems engineering, and operational best practices to promote the vision and execution path for building non-functional requirements into product deliverables.

What you’ll do

As a site reliability engineer II you will:

  • Ensure the reliability and sustainability of business applications by optimizing, monitoring, and automating deployment, support, and sustainment activities
  • Provide oversight and guidance on application sustainability to software development teams from planning through implementation and operations
  • Maintain close relationships with DevOps teams, business users, architects, and cloud operations and infrastructure teams
  • Automate any repeatable support processes and metrics
  • Identify and remove system bottlenecks as part of a shift-left testing and deployment practice, and troubleshoot performance, reliability, and stability issues

Your experience and educational background:

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) field
  • A minimum of four years of work experience in IT
  • Of the four years, a minimum of two years of relevant IT experience with agile methodologies, Cloud and DevOps environments, continuous IT process improvement, production support and problem resolution, analysis, and/or technical proficiency, networking, and knowledge of a breadth of tools and approaches to solve a broad spectrum of problems
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Working knowledge of:
    • Microsoft Visual Studio Team System and/or similar continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies such as Team Foundation Servicer, Jenkins CI, Github, and Artifactory, specifically related to software build, unit testing, and deployment
    • Application development languages, including .NET, C#, JavaScript, and SQL, and software development methodology
    • Full-stack development using programming and scripting languages such as PowerShell scripting or Azure Desired State Configuration
    • Infrastructure configuration management and automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible, and Terraform
    • Microsoft ARM templates and JSON scripting for automated deployments
    • Cloud monitoring and measurement tools such as infrastructure, application, logging, APM, and User Experience
    • Networking protocols and technologies such as routing, DNS, network peering


  • General knowledge of:
    • Microsoft ARM IaaS and PaaS architectures
    • Supporting QA Automation
    • API architecture and hybrid cloud integration patters
    • Developing and monitoring SLOs and SLAs
