The mission of the Platform Engineering Department is to provide a powerful, modern, and scalable technology foundation that supports and enables the engineering of business and technology solutions.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Aritzia is growing, and our Platform Engineering team is growing with it. This is a unique opportunity to lead the team responsible for the shared platforms and practices that empower Aritzia's development and technology team(s). As a member of the IT senior leadership team, you will provide the vision and leadership to establish a high-performance team who will build, manage, and champion the use of relevant tools, automations, and standards to accelerate the delivery of best-in-class technology solutions, and to ensure consistently stable, secure, scalable services and support. As the Vice President, Platform Engineering, you will work cross-divisionally to ensure that the architecture, methodologies and governance of our platforms and solutions are maintained to the highest standards, leveraging expertise in architecture, enterprise API and integration, as well as engineering practices and tools. THE ROLE

As the Vice President, Platform Engineering , you will lead the team to :

• Establish the vision, mission, and strategy for technology for platform engineering including enterprise architecture and enterprise API and integration as well as engineering and practices and tooling with the goal of driving engineering efficiency in the development of management solutions
• Own and execute on platform engineering's strategic road map to drive efficiency, security, reliability, cost optimization for all software and application development teams at Aritzia
• Champion the adoption and effective use of platform engineering practices and tooling across the Technology teams through excellent change management skills and ability to promote transformation and to build acceptance and agreement
• Build, maintain and communicate the enterprise architecture model, standards and best practices ensuring a broad organizational understanding and adoption
• Partner with delivery teams to architect, design, and build flexible, scalable, and resilient platforms, APIs and applications with flexibility to adapt to future business needs
• Understand and evaluate new and emerging technologies and identify opportunities to improve the use of technology to drive business objectives
• Work with the appropriate Business Support partners to seamlessly lead the day-to-day function of the department in support of corporate objectives, while enabling progressive career development and an incredible employee experience

THE QUALIFICATIONS

The Vice President, Platform Engineering has:

• Proven and best-in-class skills, education, and/or applicable certifications in:
  • Work Management (Atlassian Suite inc. Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Version Control software (GitHub, BitBucket)
  • CI / CD Tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible)
  • Testing Automation (Cypress, TestRail)
  • Experience with leveraging DevOps principles and methodologies in an Enterprise Technology Environment which includes applications such as SAP and Workday
  • Software Development Language(s) and Tools (SAP ABAP, Java, JavaScript, Groovy, REST, JSON)
  • API management and integration software and services (SAP Process Integration, SAP Integration Suite, Apigee X, SnapLogic)
