Job Description

Position Summary
Northern Health is looking for an experienced, highly efficient, and self-directed Scheduler to support the Home and Community Care department.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Home Support Scheduler is responsible for developing and coordinating home support service schedules by preparing and adjusting schedules in accordance with service referral requests and applicable collective agreements. Schedules Community Health Workers (CHW) as authorized by clinicians by receiving referrals and service changes, enters data into computer system, and carries out timekeeping tasks such as coordinating work schedules on the scheduling software system.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days, 06:30 to 14:30
On call every 3rd week Friday - Thursday 1430-2230 during the week and weekends 0630-2230

Qualfications
• Grade 12. Graduation from a recognized Office Administration Certificate program and two (2) years recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.

Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to type 40 wpm.
• Ability to operate scheduling and database software in a windows environment.
• Ability to communicate effectively to clients and families, community health workers and all members of the health care team.
• Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize.
• Knowledge of general office procedures.
• Ability to manage a high volume of work and manage several tasks at once.
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
