GroupSimple, a valued partner of GroupHEALTH, is currently looking for aBenefits Analystto join their team inSurrey, BC.

This is a multi-faceted Administration and Analyst role to support the start-up growth of GroupSimple. The Benefits Analyst will provide analytical and administration excellence to support GroupSimple Benefits Advisor sales team This role will develop a consistency and knowledge base to provide support for GroupSimple.

Within30 Days, you will
  • Onboarding and Welcome to organization and culture
  • Perform a job shadow in GH Underwriting department to understand the role requirements, submission and communication process
  • Understand GroupSimple/GroupHEALTH's value proposition and how it is a unique and compelling alternative to benefit plans for small and mid-sized (15-500) employee groups
  • Perform a series of job shadows in GH NBD department with NBD Coordinator, NBD Lead Qualifier to understand role requirements, IT systems and customer approaches and communication
  • Initial learning on CRM sales system
  • Meet with key GroupSimple and GroupHEALTH Executives and Leaders
  • Learn the GroupSimple sales process for requesting data, reviewing received data and preparing recommendations for quote specifications
Within 60 Days, you will
  • Continue to develop confidence to independently and accurately use CRM and Sales systems
  • Support sales lifecycle from data received to Assessment Report creation
  • Gather and processing benefit data packages
  • Initial learning on the GroupHEALTH Partner Portal system
  • Create RTQ and submit quote requests to GroupHEALTH
  • Prepare Assessment Reports for Benefits Advisors and discuss cost containment plan recommendations

Within 90 Days, you will

  • Independent accuracy and comfort with CRM Sales system
  • Define and outline next 90-day requirements in collaboration with GroupSimple Leadership

In addition to joining a passionate and high energy team, yourKey Responsibilitieswill include:
  • Provide analytical and technical support in plan design and pricing to Benefits Advisor sales team
  • Review policy contracts, employee benefit booklets, and renewal reports
  • Analyze the results of plan design benchmarking to provide meaningful recommendations
  • Determine if additional data is required and provide requirements to Benefits Advisor
  • Prepare quote specifications and submit RTQ to GroupHEALTH;
  • Liaise between Benefits Advisor sales team and GroupHEALTH Underwriting
  • Perform analysis for large complex clients including in-depth analysis for complex situations that may require additional research and/or discussion with GroupHEALTH Underwriting leadership team
  • Participate in team brainstorming sessions to determine client recommendations
  • Peer review data and Assessment Reports
  • Prepare client Assessment Reports including recommendations to be presented to Plan Administrators and HR leaders within client organizations
  • Maintain CRM and Sales system and Smartsheet to track progress status and activity requirements for each Prospect DEAL
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of group systems, products and technology, and have a thorough understanding of how these relate to group insurance consulting

Education & Experience
  • 3-5 years previous experience working in a group underwriting and/or group benefits environment
  • Post-Secondary degree or a combination of education and equivalent years of industry experience;
  • Intermediate experience and knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
  • GBA or CEBS courses/designation an asset

Must Haves
  • Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
  • Intermediate Computer Literacy with MS Office Suite (especially Outlook and Excel), CRM exposure
  • Eager to determine and define what excellence looks like in a new role which will be templated and documented as part of a new sales approach and methodology
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Contributor to a collaborative, team sales environment
  • Client focused and proven relationship building skills
  • Documented success within an organization or a team
  • Aptitude in mathematics and financial analysis
