Full-time Shift Supervisor
Location: McDonald's Esquimalt (1149 Esquimalt Rd., Esquimalt, BC, V9A 3N6)
Availability to Work:
Full 24/7 availability is preferred. Shifts are typically 7-8 hours per day, 5 days per week, and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights, and weekends. Manager shifts generally follow these time blocks: opening (6:00 AM-2:00 PM), mid-shift (11:00 AM-7:00 PM), closing (5:00 PM-1:00 AM), and overnight (11:00 PM-7:00 AM). Flexibility across these shifts is strongly preferred.
Starting Wage: $20.15 per hour
Carpenter Enterprises (B.C.) Inc is an independently owned and operated franchise of McDonald's located in British Columbia. We are currently seeking reliable Daytime Cashier / Line Cook Team Members to join our team.
This is a permanent full-time position responsible for supervising daily restaurant operations, leading team members, and ensuring exceptional guest service at all times.
Position Summary
The Food Service Supervisor works in a fast-paced team environment to lead and coordinate staff during scheduled 7-8 hour shifts. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, attention to detail, and accountability to ensure operational standards and performance expectations are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of staff who prepare and serve food
  • Lead shifts and support day-to-day restaurant operations
  • Train staff in job duties, food safety, and company procedures
  • Monitor team performance and provide coaching and feedback
  • Ensure food quality, service standards, and cleanliness are consistently maintained
  • Address guest concerns and resolve issues in a professional manner
  • Maintain records of inventory, sales, and wastage
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and operational demands
  • Handle cash procedures including floats, reconciliation, and safe counts
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, company policies, and Occupational Health and Safety requirements

Qualifications
  • Available to work a flexible 24/7 schedule, including overnights and weekends
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a supervisory role in food service or a similar environment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and time-management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Friendly, professional, and team-oriented

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Shifts of 7-8 hours per day, 5 days per week
  • Prolonged standing and walking
  • Frequent bending, lifting, and reaching
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Combination of on-floor supervision and administrative duties
  • Exposure to kitchen equipment and cleaning chemicals
  • Fast-paced, dynamic work environment
