Forest Hydrologist

Southern Interior Woodlands

Reporting to the Woodlands Forestry Manager, the Forest Hydrologist will manage Tolko B.C. Woodlands watershed assessment program. The Forest Hydrologist will also be responsible for maintaining and improving the Watershed Risk Management Framework.

This role will interact closely with Tolko’s Woodland’s staff, consulting hydrologists and other relevant qualified professionals. Interaction with government, First Nations and stakeholders will also be required. Although flexible on where the position is stationed, the majority of work will be located in the Southern Interior of B.C.

Qualifications:
  • A strong commitment to working safely;
  • Registered with Association of BC Forest Professionals and/or Engineers of Geoscientists is required. A university degree or technical diploma in Forestry is considered an asset;
  • Class 5 drivers license in good standing is required;
  • Familiarity with Forestry Legislation and land base constraints applicable to forest development planning in the Interior of B.C.;
  • ARC GIC skills is considered an asset;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience relevant to watershed processes and forest hydrology;
  • Strong acumen in interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills;
  • Possess a positive attitude and high degree of motivation with attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
