We’re pleased to offer this exciting career opportunity as an Environmental Scientist with Yucwmenlucwu (Caretakers of the
Land) LLP. Yucwmenlucwu is a growing natural resource management company under the Splatsin Development Corporation
which is located in Enderby, BC. We provide a diverse range of environmental, archaeology, and forestry services to our many
partners and clients, as well as technical support to the Splatsin Community. Our team is comprised of over 30 professionals
and technicians focused on the protection and conservation of cultural and natural resources. This position provides an

Summary of Duties:
The Environmental Scientist will assist our environment team in the management and delivery of various projects and
conservation initiatives, specifically in the fields of environmental impact assessment, environmental permitting and
monitoring, aquatic and terrestrial ecology, conservation biology, water quality and quantity, and natural resource
• Management and delivery of environmental projects, programs, and initiatives
• Provide technical support to the referral and consultation processes
• Mentor and train junior staff and Splatsin community members
• Develop and maintain good relationships with clients and partners
• Develop project proposals, work plans, and budgets
• Prepare technical letters and reports
• Manage contracts and sub-consultants
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or Biological Sciences
• Previous experience working with a First Nations community or organization and in private consulting
• Minimum of 5 years of multidisciplinary experience in environmental sciences
• Minimum of 2 years direct project management experience
• Registered (or eligible) Professional (e.g. RP. Bio, P. Ag, P. Geo, EP)
• Knowledge of regulatory processes, guidelines, and best management practices in BC
• Ability to cultivate relationships with community members, colleagues, and partners
• Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills
• Proven ability to work within project budgets, under contracts and with sub-consultants
• Demonstrated technical writing and research experience
• Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
• Discretion and respect for confidentiality
