The Asset Integrity Engineer (EIT) will report to the Senior Engineer, Asset Integrity. This role requires the ability to maintain a positive and flexible attitude while working independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. An individual is needed who supports a strong safety culture and can effectively communicate and engage operations and maintenance leaders to motivate change. A successful candidate will be someone who has excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with key partners across multiple functions, departments, and with management. You will play a key role in the creation and delivery of technical scopes to support business justifications, mechanical and structural plans, and inspection strategies. These responsibilities support core Asset Management functions for our fixed plants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Maintain strong and open communication with direct supervisor and other stakeholders.
  • Provide sustainable solutions to asset integrity and maintenance related problems, with focus on structural integrity of fixed assets.
  • Coordinate inspections with third-party engineers, develop safe work plans, and overall consultant and contractor management as work scopes are completed on-site.
  • Review engineered reports and inspection plans, transferring and collecting the pertinent data to develop streamlined repair scopes, maintain detailed schedules, and diligently track costs for project completion.
  • Management of the inspection and deficiency data, ensuring the data is accurate and updated in the tracking system.
  • Interpret technical requirements of engineered design documents to provide clear understanding and accurate implementation of requirements.
  • Provide input to annual business plans based on short and long-term asset plans, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and targets for operational performance.
  • Participate in hazard risk assessments, safety meetings, and positively contribute to the health & safety culture at HVC.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders within management and operational teams and ensure that key information related to asset management is communicated effectively.
  • Contribute to relevant continuous improvement and/or management operating systems initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Eligible for registration as an EIT or P. Eng with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC)
  • Bachelor's Engineering degree in Mechanical, Civil (Structural), Mining, or another related field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of structural integrity, asset management principles, reliability engineering, or maintenance planning.
  • Experience in a mining, industrial, or utility setting would be considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with CMMS, MS Office, Power BI, SQL or engineering software tools is a plus.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment.
  • Facilitation skills used to gather subject matter expertise and achieve consensus for strategy development and/or scope of work.
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have a valid Class 5 Drivers License

Salary Range: CAD $105,000 - $130,000 per year

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
