The Radio Access Network (RAN) national microwave engineering team is passionate about designing leading edge transport solutions to support both our 5G wireless network and access connectivity to rural enterprise customer locations. Our DevOPS team is responsible for "end-to-end microwave radio" which includes radio development, RF design, licensing, performance, capacity management, and OSS. We collaborate regularly with internal design teams and the TELUS sales organization to define network requirements and based on the inputs, we create high-availability modular microwave radio solutions for deployment.

As an experienced microwave engineer, you'll provide the technical leadership to ensure we efficiently design and deploy leading edge microwave radio solutions. Your efforts will ensure that our rural customers are able to enjoy a world class network experience with the highest levels of availability. Your creativity coupled with strong radio frequency (RF) engineering and big-data analytical skills will allow the microwave team to find the most efficient ways of building out network to support both mobility and enterprise traffic requirements. With you on our team, we will continue to shape the future vision of TELUS' wireless network by providing state-of-the-art radio solutions within rural Canada.


Here's how
    •RF design and licensing for 5G transport requirements nationally (new radio builds and capacity augments) •Develop radio solutions and costing models for incoming inquiries from the TELUS sales team for rural enterprise bids •Act as a microwave radio technical solution prime for large complex deals within the AB and BC ILEC region •Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer bid needs, provide feedback in timely cycles to sales, and provide technical support for the bid proposals •Routinely re-evaluate internal processes to minimize cycle times, introduce automation, ensure processes and tools are scalable to support business growth •Develop dashboards with data visualizations to provide insight into network performance that can be shared with peer teams and leaders



Qualifications:


You're the missing piece of the puzzle
    •With a Professional Engineer designation •Regarded for you 5 years of experience designing microwave radio systems with the industry standard suite of Canadian RF design and licensing tools •Recognized for your strong understanding of databases and big data, including MySQL, NoSQL databases, and SPLUNK •Valued for your deep knowledge of microwave RF theory, network design, IP networking, and capacity engineering •Known for your deep understanding of microwave radio key performance indicators which would allow for efficient troubleshooting •Skilled in programming including: C#, JavaScript (JS), Python •Adept in understanding of financial concepts such as net present value (NPV), and return of investment (ROI) •Appreciated for your skills and experience of presenting technical ideas/solutions in concise meaningful presentations •Valued for your effective communication skills while collaborating with both technical and non-technical team members •Commended for your inter-personal skills, critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving skills •With a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering

    •Master degree Electrical Engineering and/or MBA
